Day to day investment management is overseen by Marcus Dusenbury. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1998 with PaineWebber while finishing up at Cal State University studying International Business and German Studies. In 1999 he moved to Seattle and took a new position with PaineWebber working on corporate employee financial benefits for companies such as Expedia, Intel, Amgen, and Deutsche Telekom to name a few. He then stayed with the firm as it merged with the world’s largest private bank at the time, UBS. His focus at UBS since 2004 was working extensively with high net worth individuals in the creation of their financial plan and proper investment allocation. In 2005 Marcus was offered a position to run the investment arm of an ultra high net worth family office, but declined because it would not allow him to continue to work with the many clients with whom he had built personal relationships over the years. Even though he has brought tremendous monetary value to Viridian’s clients in their portfolios, he has always held the relationship as the most valuable asset above all else. In early 2009, he and Adriel left UBS to found Viridian Investments.
Marcus is a fee only financial planner and investment manager. Marcus brings a wealth of knowledge in asset management, analysis, and operational expertise to Viridian. He is originally from San Francisco, but spent summers growing up in Europe as his mother is German. He speaks fluent German and holds duel-citizenship (U.S. and EU). Marcus enjoys spending his free time with his wife Erica, his two kids Josiah and Jasmine, and their dog Lily. When not working with clients, he can often be found underwater scuba diving as a Certified Rescue Diver (working towards his Dive Master), playing soccer, or outside enjoying the great Northwest.
